Systems Engineer Linux (m/f)Inovex is an IT consultancy with a particular focus on “digital transformation”. Our 200+ consultants and engineers provide support for our clients in digitalizing existing business and in the creation of new business models. Our portfolio covers the the following areas: digital consulting, web- and mobile-development, business intelligence, big data and search, data centre automation and cloud infrastructure as well as training and coaching.
The IT Engineering and Operations team consists of specialists responsible for the conception, implementation and operation of infrastructure- and application-solutions. Wherever possible we use open source software for automation and monitoring. Our stengths are based on our many years’ experience with complex highly-available environments as well as close integration in, and collaboration with, inter-disciplinerary development teams.
What you can expect:As one of our system engineers working on client projects you will have a wide brief: you will take responsibility for the conception, implementation and operation of stable and secure linux-based platforms and will thereby take an active and ongoing role in designing and setting up system configuration and monitoring, ensuring at all times that our solutions remain scalable and highly available. Our clients are keen to make use of the latest technological developments, so a passion and enthusiasm for understanding current IT trends are a must. If you are looking for a challenge that involves a variety of system-stacks and the requirement to analyse and solve problems you encounter all the way from the kernel through to a web frontend, then we want to hear from you: your expertise is in demand! Other aspects of your work will involve you liaising with our clients, developers and other consultants, as well as organising operational procedures.
- A passion and enthusiasm for tackling new Linux-related technologies
- Good working knowledge of at least one Linux distribution (e.g. Debian or RedHat)
- Good working knowledge of a configuration management tool (e.g. Puppet, Chef or Salt)
- Experience in at least one of the following:
- Web (e.g. Apache Tomcat, Apache Httpd, Nginx, HA Proxy)
- Mail (e.g. Postfix)
- Caching (e.g. Varnish)
- Databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB)
- Load balancing (e.g. ipvs)
- Ideally you already have experience with logfile analysis (e.g. ELK), monitoring (e.g. Icinga) or testing (e.g. JMeter)
- Good communication skills, knowledge of the English and German language fluent in spoken and written or the strong willingness to learn the second
- Mobility and Flexibility is required to carry out aspects of project work for our clients on-site
