inovex Supports Local Karlsruhe Primary School
Donation allows the setup of a fischertechnik-AG programme.
(Karlsruhe, 09.04.2018) inovex GmbH has donated 2,600 euros to establish a fischertechnik-AG technology programme at the Grundschule am Wasserturm primary school in Karlsruhe. The money will fund the purchase of fischertechnik building kits as part of the Karlsruher Technik-Initiative [Karlsruhe Technology Initiative].
The Grundschule am Wasserturm school is situated close to inovex GmbH's Karlsruhe location. The children of several employees attend the school, with more set to enrol in the years to come. As the school holds classes all day, the fischertechnik-AG programme will form an important element of the school routine. It will round out the science and technology aspect of the school's portfolio, which already includes sporting and musical activities.
By experimenting with their own models, the pupils of classes 3 and 4 will learn the fundamental mechanical principles through play. Due to the high level of interest, the pupils have been divided into two groups, with twelve children building towers, bridges and vehicles during the first half of the school year, and the other half doing the same during the second half. These experiments will enable them to discover the principles of statics, dynamics and automotive engineering for themselves. The children will be supported and guided in these activities by Dieter Walde, the father of one of the girls attending the school.
"We are planning to participate in the fischertechnik-Tag (fischertechnik day) event in June. This is an event in which the models created by the various participating schools will all be linked together to create a huge chain reaction", Dieter Walde explains. In cooperation with CyberForum, Walde attended several training sessions in preparation for organising and implementing the programme. As the models created by the pupils can be disassembled and their components reused, the school anticipates being able to offer the programme for years to come.
