Description
An appropriate software architecture is fundamental for the long-term success of a product! In this training, participants learn how to establish effective architecture work in their development projects. They learn how architecture is created iteratively and sustainably – from analyzing architecturally significant requirements to architecture design guided by principles and patterns. Participants learn how to document, communicate and evaluate an architecture in a lightweight manner.
The training imparts these skills through a lively mix of teaching the necessary basic knowledge and directly applying them in practice with a consistent case study.
The training is based on the iSAQB CPSA Foundation Level curriculum and is accredited by iSAQB. Participants will be prepared for the iSAQB Certified Professional for Software Architecture – Foundation Level certification exam.
Remarks:
Following the training, participants can take the iSAQB CPSA-F certification exam. The certification exam incurs an additional fee of €250 plus VAT. The certification exam can be booked directly with the training registration.
The training price includes the book “Software Architecture Fundamentals” by M. Gharbi, A. Koschel, A. Rausch and H. Tiemeyer (eBook for online training, printed book and eBook for in-person training).

Marco Geiger has been with inovex since 2009 and has extensive experience in human-centred software development and software architecture. He specialises in business processes (BPM) and backend development and has extensive experience in testing/quality assurance. He is able to convey even very complex content in an understandable way and create a positive learning environment. Marco also coordinates the work with young talent at inovex and organises workshops on topics such as AI, electronics, etc. for children and young people.
Benjamin Klüglein has been working as a software engineer in regulated environments since 2008, particularly in the automotive and medical sectors. With his extensive experience, he has established himself as a developer as well as a software architect and Scrum Master.
In recent years, Benjamin has conducted numerous trainings in Agile methods and software architecture, passing on his knowledge and expertise to teams and individuals. His approach combines practical experience with theoretical concepts to achieve sustainable learning outcomes.
Marcel Boehm has been working as a cloud platform engineer in the Kubernetes environment since 2019. He focuses particularly on GitOps and the development of operators, especially in the context of the open source project Gardener. His focus is on making work for developers in the cloud environment more efficient and intuitive through process automation.
Dr. Ulrich Becker has over 20 years of professional experience in the IT sector. His core topic is software architecture, with a focus on the domains of medical IoT and embedded systems. In addition to architecture work in projects, he enjoys sharing his knowledge as a trainer, consultant and coach. He is an active iSAQB member and iSAQB-accredited trainer for CPSA Foundation Level, CPSA Advanced Level EMBEDDED ans AGILA.
Florian Franzmann develops software platforms for embedded systems based on open source technologies at inovex. He is always on the move in the fields of medical technology and automotive, among others, where bare hardware, operating system and application software meet. In the past, he has gained experience in the areas of real-time systems, signal processing and security. He has been working with the C++ programming language since 1998 and develops application software, system software and software libraries in his day-to-day work. He also enjoys familiarising himself with the inner workings of various Linux distributions. Florian has been gaining experience with the conception and implementation of training courses since 2003, initially in academic teaching and since 2018 also in the private sector
Stefan Clepce develops software platforms for embedded systems based on open source technologies at inovex and has been working as a software engineer in the field of medical technology since 2007. Depending on the project, he also takes on the role of software architect, requirements and test manager. He is also particularly interested in software craftsmanship and legacy code.
The inovex Academy has set itself the task of passing on knowledge about methods and technologies that we already use successfully in our projects.

Customized flight altitude
Our training courses start where many standard courses end. Thanks to their interactive structure, we dynamically adapt the level to the participants' expert knowledge and are happy to delve deeply into complex issues.
Participants should have at least 18 months of practical software-development experience outside of academia, as well as programming knowledge in at least one high-level programming language. Basic knowledge of modeling, abstraction and modularization is of advantage.
Is the training tailored to a specific technical domain, such as web systems or cloud-native systems?
The CPSA-F training is independent of any specific technical domain – the contents are applicable regardless of system type, such as cloud-native systems or embedded systems. Further differentiation is possible within the iSAQB Advanced Level, which builds upon the Foundation Level.
Which technical tools and platforms are used for online training?
For online training, we use modern video conferencing tools with features such as breakout rooms, chat, and a "request help" option. We use Miro as an online whiteboard for practical exercises and for documenting the results.

Can the iSAQB CPSA-F training be conducted online?
The training can be carried out both online and in person.
What qualifications do the trainers have?
In addition to official iSAQB accreditation, our trainers undergo a comprehensive qualification process with internal training, co-trainer coaching and a train-the-trainer seminar. The trainers come from a practical background and apply the methods and techniques taught in this course in their projects on a daily basis.
Can the duration of the training be flexibly adjusted?
The training contents require a seminar duration of at least three days. Beyond this, the duration can be flexibly adapted. For example, a four-day course with more extensive practical exercises is possible. Online training courses can be extended to four or five shorter training days, for example.
