Description
Why accessibility
We’ll clarify the importance of accessibility for users with both permanent and temporary impairments. Product owners will learn how essential it is to facilitate access to digital products for everyone and thus to reach a larger market. They will also learn about the added value accessibility creates for all users.
How people with impairments use the Internet
Participants will gain insights into the use of assistive technologies. They will thus attain a better understanding of how to optimise their products for these technologies. They will use screen reader statistics and other data to understand the relevance of accessibility for their target groups.
Legal environment
Participants will familiarize themselves with the legal framework conditions, including WCAG, BITV, and EU directives. We’ll explain how these guidelines can be integrated into the product development process and complied with.
A11y strategy
During this training course, an accessibility strategy will be developed which will demonstrate how developers can integrate accessibility into their development processes from the very outset (shift-left approach). We’ll discuss how automated testing can help to efficiently ensure accessibility standards.
